The founder of Schoonover Industries, Robert Schoonover has over 30 years of experience in different areas of manufacturing, including welding, fabricating, machining, and tool and die design and construction. He has also worked as a troubleshooter for a major international structural steel company and served in different areas of management before starting his own company. He is proficient with CAD programs and Merry Mechanization's SMP/IS program.
Robert was born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, where he graduated from Ashland High School in 1964. He has three children, Jim, Megan, and Amy, as well as a grandson, Josh. Along with his wife, Alyx, Robert enjoys walking, reading, traveling, and playing with his grandchildren.
Robert is a member of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Small Manufacturers Council. He is a past Board member of the United Way of Ashland, the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, the Ashland City Club, ISCASH, the Domestic Violence Shelter and The Rotary Club of Ashland. During his tenure as President of the Rotary, the Club celebrated their 75th Anniversary.
